Recraft centered artistic materials that are not frequently utilized in contemporary art practice. In order to platform this idea to our visitors, we created a wheel interactive that acted as a tool to enact a shift in perspective. The directive asked participants to consider a favorite work of art, followed by the prompt to find the primary material that work was made of on the orange, exterior wheel. They were then asked to spin the red wheel, and consider what that artwork would look like if it was made out of the new material that they landed on. The activity could be done by itself, or there was an additional opportunity to visually translate it with paper and pen.
